Your running shoes<\/strong> may have become your best friends during lockdown. More generally, we discovered how valuable it is to spend time outdoors<\/strong> and use nearby green spaces for body and mind. That is a habit worth keeping and an opportunity to travel<\/strong> differently. These ideas inspired the Trasimeno Running Experience<\/strong> project, created for runners and walkers who wanted to explore Lake Trasimeno<\/strong> and its surroundings in a new way.<\/p>\n\n

Trasimeno Running Experience: Archeorunning as our ambassador<\/h2>\n\n

What made this running experience different? Our guide through the Trasimeno hills was to be Isabella Calidonna<\/strong>, a FIDAL coach and CONI physical trainer, as well as an art historian, qualified tour guide and creator of Archeorunning<\/a>. Isa has roots in Rome but fell in love with Umbria<\/strong> and was ready to share it with guests in Italian<\/strong> or English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Together we could plan themed routes<\/strong> through archaeological sites, historic buildings and excellent local wineries. The idea behind Trasimeno Running Experience<\/strong> was to experience the area directly, crossing its woods and country lanes.<\/p>\n\n

Trasimeno Running Experience: a first trial<\/h3>\n\n

A few weeks before the next lockdown, Isabella spent two days at the estate to study its position and begin planning cultural, food and wine routes<\/strong>. You can read her account<\/a>. At Vacanze Ideali & Tenuta Badia 99, we were delighted by her energy and sense of wonder. The first feedback from people with deep roots in the area was encouraging.<\/p>\n\n

At the time, we were waiting to launch this experience around Lake Trasimeno<\/strong>, with more than the lake itself to discover. We invited readers to subscribe to our newsletter for updates on the project.<\/p>\n\n
